Starter for 6 is an enterprise training programme that supports up-and-coming creative entrepreneurs across Scotland.
Originally supported by Nesta between 2007 and 2009, Starter for 6 supports creative individuals by providing them them with a tailored business support package including enterprise training, peer mentoring and grants of up to £10,000. Starter for 6 is now managed and delivered by Cultural Enterprise Office, experts in supporting the development of creative businesses and practitioners across Scotland.
An assessment of the 2007-09 programme found that it helped over 116 businesses to be established, increasing their business turnover by £2 million and contributing £1.5 million additional gross value added to the Scottish economy.
